Marriage Service

"And one of His signs is that He has created for you, spouses from amongst yourselves so that you might take comfort in them and He has placed between you, love and mercy. In this there is surely evidence (of the truth) for the people who carefully think."
- Quran 30:21
Zubaida Foundation Marriage Procedure

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Your decision to marry is a spiritual covenant that is rooted in a commitment for one another. A wedding is always a joyous event, and as such we are much honored that you’ve chosen us to share the occasion!
If you would like to be married at Zubaida Foundation or request the ZF Imam to officiate your wedding ceremony, you must complete the following steps:

Step 1: Submit online form to schedule a time with the Imam. Please be sure to do this at least 3-4 weeks prior to the ceremony. Once your information is received, the Imam will work on scheduling the mandatory premarital counseling session. Please click here to submit Nikah request.

Step 2: Imam Numaan will be in contact with you to schedule a premarital counseling session.  Our premarital counseling requirement is designed for the couple to gain greater insight into a harmonious marriage that is guided by Islamic teachings and principles. We pray that this process prepares both of you for the journey ahead.
Please click here to review the pre-marital counseling questionnaire before your session.

Step 3: Obtain Marriage License from your Local County Courthouse. Please remember our nikahs are also legal marriages, therefore we must enforce this procedure. The following location is for Bucks County residents:
  1. Clerk of of Orphan's Court : 215-348-6265
    http://www.buckscounty.org/government/RowOfficers/RegisterofWills/MarriageLicenses

The original marriage license and the provided return envelope need to be obtained and brought to the Nikah ceremony.  No Nikah will be performed without the marriage license

Step 4: Make sure to go through the following checklist:

  • Marriage Licenses and provided return envelope
  • ZF Marriage Intake Form
  • Marital Contract
  • Pre-Marital Counseling (REQUIRED)

Administrative fees:
- $250 for community members of ZF (On-site)
- $400 for community members of ZF (Off-site)

Step 5: Provide Two Witnesses for the Nikah Ceremony
The bride and groom must provide at least two witnesses for their nikah ceremony. The masjid will not provide these witnesses, the couple must bring with them two witnesses for the ceremony.

Summary:
1) Submit Nikah request form
2) Schedule Pre-marital counseling
3) Fill out Nikah intake forms (emailed after initial contact)
4) Bring witnesses and any applicable fees to Nikah
5) Ensure you have a legal marriage license IN HAND on the day of the Nikah
