ZUBAIDA FOUNDATION DENOUNCES THE ACTS OF KIDNAPPING IN NIGERIA
Yardley, PA - Zubaida Foundation and Mosque, located in Yardley, is standing along with all people and organizations who are speaking out against the kidnapping of children. Child trafficking, forced marriage, and child soldiering are against the pillars of Islam. We condemn the violence and intimidation actions of Boko Haram's campaign targeting Christians and Muslims. We urge authorities in Nigeria, throughout the region, and all around the world, to do everything they can to return the girls safely to their families. We want the people of the world to understand that these acts are NOT condoned by Muslims, and the actions are un-Islamic.
We urge the communities throughout the world and those of political power to work for and to promote peace and security in this area of the world (and else where) and condemn the actions by Boko Haramand those like him.
Zubaida Foundation and Mosque, along with CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations, CAIR.COM, the nation's largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization), ICNA (Islamic Circle of North America, ICNA.ORG), ISNA (The Islamic Society of North America, the oldest and largest American Muslim umbrella organization) and USCMO (US Council of Muslim Organizations, a coalition of several leading national and local Muslim organizations), have come out against these kidnappings and against Boko Haram's campaign.
Our Book of God (Qur’an) tells us to be moderate, not to be radical either way. Islam, along with our Jewish and Christian cousins, know that killing one innocent life is like killing the world. Kidnapping, terrorizing a nation and people, forced “marriages”, threatening to sell people, child-soldering, etc are against our way of life.
We continue to pray for those who have been affected by this tragedy and call on all Muslims to help in any and all ways each of us can. As all Muslims, we here at Zubaida Foundation and Mosque condemn all acts of terrorism and violence.
